# Privacy Policy for Odia Dictionary

Odia Dictionary & Translator ("the App," "we," "us," or "our") is an offline-first English-Odia dictionary and vocabulary application. This Privacy Policy explains how information is handled when you use the App.
## 1. Information We Collect
We do not require you to create an account, and we do not directly collect, store, sell, or share personal information.
The App does not use advertising SDKs, analytics services, or tracking technologies. It does not request access to your contacts, location, camera, photos, or persistent device identifiers.
## 2. Information Stored on Your Device
Your favorites, search history, learning progress, and app settings are stored locally on your device. This information is used only to provide the App's features and is not transmitted to our servers.
You can remove this locally stored information by clearing the App's data or uninstalling the App. Some information may also be cleared from within the App where that option is available.
## 3. Microphone and Voice Search
The App requests microphone access only when you choose to use voice search. Microphone access is not used in the background.
Your spoken audio is sent to the speech-recognition service selected or provided by your device or operating-system provider so that it can be converted into search text. Depending on your device settings and speech service, this processing may occur on your device or on the provider's servers. We do not receive or store the audio recording. The speech-recognition provider's handling of audio and recognized text is governed by that provider's privacy policy and your device settings.
You can use the dictionary without voice search. You may deny or revoke microphone permission at any time through your device settings and continue using typed search.
## 4. Text-to-Speech
When you use pronunciation or voice-preview features, text is processed by the text-to-speech engine installed or selected on your device. Depending on the selected engine and voice, processing may occur locally or through the engine provider's services. We do not receive or store this speech data. The provider's privacy policy applies to its processing.
## 5. Sharing Feature
If you choose to share app content, the App opens your device's system share sheet. The information you select is shared only with the app or service you choose. That third party's privacy policy applies after you choose to share the content.
## 6. Third-Party Services
The App may interact with operating-system features and services installed on your device, including speech recognition, text-to-speech, and the system share sheet. These services are controlled by their respective providers. We encourage you to review the privacy settings and policies of your device, speech-recognition provider, text-to-speech provider, and any app you use for sharing.
## 7. Data Security
Because your favorites, history, progress, and settings remain on your device, their security depends partly on your device's security controls. No method of electronic storage or processing is completely secure, but we limit data handling to what is needed for the App's functionality.
## 8. Children's Privacy
The App is a general-audience educational tool. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. Voice search is optional and uses the speech-recognition service configured on the user's device. Parents or guardians should review the privacy settings and policies of that service before allowing a child to use voice search.
## 9. Your Choices
You may:
- use typed search instead of granting microphone permission;
- revoke microphone permission through your device settings;
- manage or delete locally stored App data; and
- uninstall the App to remove its locally stored data.
Because we do not operate user accounts or directly collect personal information, we generally do not hold personal data that can be accessed, corrected, or deleted through a request to us.
## 10. Changes to This Privacy Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy when the App's features or legal requirements change. Any update will be posted at the same location with a revised "Last updated" date. Your continued use of the App after an update means that you acknowledge the revised policy.
